With the accession of Cyprus to the EU in May 2004, the government of Cyprus appointed an independent Schedules Facilitator, according to the provisions of Council Regulation (EEC) No 95/93, for the purpose of facilitating air carriers’ schedules at Cyprus´ two airports, Larnaka (LCA) and Pafos (PFO). Following a transition period, the Schedules Facilitator fully took over the relevant work from the then national carrier, Cyprus Airways, in March 2007.
The Schedules Facilitator is appointed as a natural person by the Council of Ministers and the personnel is currently provided by the Department of Civil Aviation.
Cyprus Airport Coordination is a member of the European Airport Coordinators Association (EUACA) and the Worldwide Airport Coordinators Group (WWACG) and participates in the biannual IATA Slot Conference.
